Force Free, As it should be

At Salty Dogs Obedience and Adventure, our training and behavior modification philosophy includes positive, reward-based training methods that are fun and effective for both you and your dog. We adhere to the practice of using science-backed, humane methods when working to change any behavior and only use tools and practices that are dog-friendly and safe.

This means we will never use fear, force, pain, alpha rolls, choke, prong, or shock collars to train you and your dog.

      And so much more!

Our Services

Classes + Workshops

We offer group classes and workshops to help you with basic manners and socializing your new puppy, as well as classes focused on specific skills like loose leash walking and recall.

Private Training

For those who need one-on-one attention, we can work around your schedule to offer private training in your home, whether that means our trainer comes to you or it’s conducted online.

Maine Canine Academy

MCA is not a doggie daycare, it’s a training school for Salty Dogs. The first of its kind in this neck of the woods, our training school is run by our five trainers. Think of it like board and train except your dog comes home every night!

The SALT Network

At Salty Dogs, we are firm believers that training should be accessible to all.

This includes having the tools and resources to help train your dog, regardless of your financial status. We understand that there are folks in our community (maybe even your family or neighbors!) who deeply care about the health, happiness, and wellbeing of their pup, but may be restricted financially.

And that is why we are launching the SALT Network (Shared Aid for Learning and Training). The SALT network is a mutual aid fund, built from the ground up, at the community level.

At its core, it is about neighbors helping neighbors. From one Dog Mom to another Dog Mom. The SALT Network is a mutual aid network where we pool funds, resources, items, and skills so that families and their dogs can access training and dog care items, without sacrificing putting food on the table.
