DAY TRAINING
Let us get your training started! Day Training is our fast track program where we come to your house during the week and train your dog for you. Three days a week we will come and work with your dog in the safe, comfortable environment of their home. Our professional dog trainers will use their expertise to work on the skills you need and problems you’re having, all while you’re at work, running errands, or going about your non-dog-training life. Then at the end of the week we’ll meet up with you and your dog to show you what they’ve learned and how you can integrate that into your day-to-day life. Examples of skills we can tackle during day training:
- Leash Walking
- Recall (coming when called)
- Counter Surfing (jumping on counters and tables)
- Greetings (prevention of jumping on people)
- Stay (sit/down)
- Settle/Mat Training
- Attention
- Impulse Control
- Leave It
- Drop it
- Crate Training
- Basic House Manners
- Puppy Problems (like house training, crate training, play biting)
Day Training is the perfect solution for owners who:
- Are at work during the day and need a break for their dog that includes mental stimulation and engagement
- Don’t have the time or desire to teach their dog the skills they need
- Are struggling to figure out how to help their dog with specific problems
- Want to get their dog trained faster and more efficiently than group classes or private training
- Have dogs with house-specific problems that aren’t addressed in classes (counter-surfing, jumping at doorways, etc)
We currently offer day training programs for the following areas:
MDI sign up! (serving all MDI towns)
Ellsworth area sign up! (serving towns of Ellsworth, Trenton, and Lamoine)
Blue Hill area sign up! (serving towns of Surry and the Blue Hill peninsula)
Bucksport area sign up! (serving towns of Bucksport, Orland, Verona, and Prospect)
Cost: A four week package (17 total sessions) $2,040
-1 Initial Consultation and Evaluation for you and your dog to attend with our trainer, in your home
-12 sessions for your dog with our trainer (in your home, owner not present) 3 days a week for 4 weeks
-4 Private transfer lessons (in your home, owner and dog present) 1 day a week for 4 weeks
NOSEY NEIGHBORS
A sweet mashup of day training and adventure school, these hour long, mini-adventure sessions start from your home and progress around your neighborhood. We will work on training skills out in the world, but without the need to leave the streets surrounding your dog’s home, cutting down on driving time while still giving your dog practice in the real world, exercise, enrichment, social interaction, and a chance to break up what might be a long day home alone. Nosey Neighbors is perfect for owners who:
- Are at work during the day and need a break for their dog that includes exercise, enrichment, and training
- Need help progressing their dog’s skills beyond the house
- Are struggling to figure out how to help their dog with specific problems outside
- Need a less expensive option than Adventure School but still need trainer direct support
- Want to get their dog trained faster and more efficiently than group classes or private training
- Want their dog to learn manners and specific skills around cars, other dogs, and people *Nosey Neighbors is not appropriate for dogs struggling with reactivity or aggressive behavior at this time. Please sign up for a behavior consult here first
